Request the grade-specific safety data sheet and technical data sheet before evaluation or use. Lead compounds are hazardous and require appropriate industrial controls, handling procedures and workplace assessment.
Evaluate the end use and destination.
Lead-based stabilizers are not appropriate for every application or market. Requirements vary by destination and finished product. Confirm the intended use and applicable requirements before selecting a material.
Assess the finished formulation.
A stabilizer is one component of a compound. Trials and relevant finished-product testing are needed to establish suitability; a product-family description is not a certification.
Manage handling, storage and disposal.
Follow the current SDS and the procedures required by your workplace and applicable local rules. Review exposure controls, storage, waste management and training with the responsible technical and safety personnel.
